CBP Arrests Man Previously Deported From North Carolina

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Douglas Station arrested a male Mexican national with felony and misdemeanor criminal charges out of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Following his arrest west of Douglas on Sept. 10, 2016, agents conducted a records check and found he was arrested by the Raleigh Police Department and charged with setting a fire, resisting a public officer, assault on a female and assault on a child under 12.

He was ordered removed from the U.S. in 2015 and now faces charges for illegal re-entry.

Border Patrol agents often encounter individuals with serious criminal history during the course of their patrol duties. Agents remain committed to making our communities safer by removing dangerous criminals from the country. All individuals apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks in order to ensure that illegal immigrants with criminal histories are positively identified.
