Flagstaff Man Arrested After Threatening To Shoot Himself With BB Gun

This week, Flagstaff Police officers working patrol responded to a call stating that there was a suicidal male with a gun near Target. Christopher Crismon, age 19 was threatening to shoot himself in the head and was also reported to be armed with a knife.

The officer was able to locate the subject at 1514 S Riordan Ranch St, near an NAU parking garage and other NAU properties. NAU immediately issued an alert to all students to stay inside, lock all doors, and avoid the parking garage area.

Officers proceeded to negotiate with Crismon and set up a perimeter. Crismon was waiving a black handgun and at one point during the encounter he aimed the gun at his head. It was during the negotiation that the subject discharged the gun into the air to show the officers that it was a bb gun.

The officers took Crismon into custody. He was charged with discharging an air gun within city limits which is a misdemeanor offense. The gun did not have any safety paint, which made the gun appear to be real firearm.
