Residents Warned Of Jury Duty Scam in Sierra Vista Area

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents of a new telephone scam in which residents are contacted by a caller who identifies himself as a Sheriff’s Deputy. The caller is telling the people that they have to report to the Sheriff’s Office in person, but once they arrive there is no record of them being contacted and/or any jury duty service.

According to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, it is unknown at this time what the objective of this type of phone call is for. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone receiving this kind of contact to hang-up and do not give out personal information.
