Silverbell Road Paving Begins Wednesday

On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, crews from Hunter Contracting, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin paving the east side of Silverbell Road, north of Burlwood Way. Crews will work 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be intermittent delays at side streets along the east side of Silverbell Road as paving operations move north. The paving work is scheduled to be complete by Friday, September 30, 2016. Motorists and area residents should expect the following:

• Residents using Painted Sunset Road and Goret Road can expect delays of up to 15 minutes while Silverbell Road is paved at each intersection.
• Residents using Frostwood Lane will be directed to use Burlwood Way while Silverbell Road is paved at Frostwood Lane.
• Residents using Silver Arrow Drive will be directed to use Silver Bell Tree Drive while Silverbell Road is paved at Silver Arrow Drive.
• Residents using Silver Bell Tree Drive will be directed to use Silver Arrow Drive while Silverbell Road is paved at Silver Bell Tree Drive.

Side street restrictions will be removed once paving operations are completed in that area. Flaggers will be on site to help direct traffic through the work area. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work areas. The paving schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. The final lift of paving on Silverbell Road from Grant Road to Goret Road is scheduled for late October 2016, with overall project completion scheduled for late November 2016.
