On October 2, 2016 (Sunday morning) at about 1:33 a.m., a pedestrian was walking in the roadway on Main Street (aka Apache Trail) just east of 79th Place. The pedestrian was walking eastbound on Main Street in the curb lane when he was struck by an unknown vehicle which was also been traveling the same direction.
The pedestrian was thrown to the south shoulder of the roadway and the vehicle fled the scene. The pedestrian sustained numerous broken bones from the collision but is expected to recover from his injuries.
Witnesses believe the vehicle was possibly a small white hatchback type vehicle, but this information has not been confirmed.
At this time, the Sheriff’s Department does not have any information about the suspect or the suspect vehicle. The vehicle that fled the scene may have damage to the passenger side of the vehicle includeing the headlight, bumper, passenger mirror and windshield.
