Tucson Police Working East Side Homicide Investigation

The Tucson Police Department is actively investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning in the 5600 block of E. 26th Street.

On October 16, 2016, shortly after 1:00 a.m., officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 5600 block of E. 26th St. Upon arrival, officers located three adult males with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

Officers immediately rendered first aid and summoned paramedics. Members from the Tucson Fire Department arrived on scene a short time later. One male was pronounced deceased on scene.

The identity of the male is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The two other males were transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. Preliminary information revealed the three men had been involved in an altercation with each other prior to the shots being fired.

The investigation is still in the early stages, information will be released as it becomes available. Anyone with information is urged by TPD to call 911 or 88-CRIME (you can remain anonymous).
