On Saturday, October 15, 2016, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Pima County deputies responded to the Walmart, located at 7635 North La Cholla Boulevard, for a report of a strong arm robbery. When they arrived, deputies learned a male suspect had assaulted two loss prevention employees while stealing items from the store.
After reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses, it was determined the male suspect had entered the store, selected a Bluetooth speaker and a water filter, placed both items into a bag, and tried to exit the store without paying for the items.
When the suspect was approached by two loss prevention employees, he proceeded to push past both of them, causing minor injuries to one of the employees in the process. Witnesses stated the suspect ran to a blue-green Honda Civic and drove away from the scene.
The male suspect is described as:
- Caucasian, in his late teens or early 20’s
- Approximately 6’0” tall, thin build, short dark hair
- Last seen wearing glasses, a maroon shirt, gray shorts, and black athletic shoes
Robbery/Assault detectives have taken over the investigation and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
