On October 24, 2016 Tucson Police officers responded to Cholla High School, at 2001 W. Starr Pass Boulevard, regardig a possible inappropriate sexual contact between a student and a teacher. They learned on October 17, 2016 a fifteen-year-old female student was on campus when the adult male teacher made sexual contact with her. The student reported the incident to school officials who then began an investigation.
Detectives from the Child Sexual Assault Unit have furthered the investigation. On October 26, 2016 the detectives identified and arrested the teacher, 48-year-old Eddie Rodriquez, for one count of Sexual Abuse, a Class 5 Felony. He was transported and booked into the Pima County Jail.
