On Monday, October 24, 2016, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Pima County deputies responded to the McDonald’s located at 5335 South Palo Verde Road for a report of an armed robbery. When they arrived, deputies learned a male suspect pulled up to the drive-thru window, demanded money, and took the cash register.
Night Squad detectives responded to the scene to conduct an initial investigation. After speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage, detectives determined the suspect pulled up to the drive-thru window in a light colored four door sedan. The suspect pointed a silver gun at the drive-thru employee before using the gun to smash the window.
The suspect then reached in through the shattered window and pulled out the entire cash drawer before driving away from the scene.
The suspect is described as:
• Hispanic, in his early 20’s
• Last seen wearing a black/red baseball hat, grey hooded sweatshirt, light long-sleeve undershirt
• Carrying a silver revolver Robbery/Assault detectives have taken over the investigation and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
