PCSO Detectives Arrest Tucson Man In The Death Of His Nephew

On July 30th, 2015 Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 4000 block of East Ascot Drive in San Tan Valley regarding a possible drug overdose. Deputies were advised the drug overdose involved a 15 year old male victim by the name of Triston Dalmolin.

Family members and deputies attempted Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on Triston, while awaiting medical personnel to arrive at the house. Triston was transported to a local hospital where they continued with lifesaving efforts. Triston was pronounced deceased a short time after his arrival to the hospital.

Family members stated that Triston had taken an unknown type of pills a few days prior to his death. He had an adverse reaction to the pills, causing him to become ill and lethargic.

Autopsy results indicated that Triston’s death was a result of “Buprenorphine Intoxication.” Buprenorphine is used to treat opioid addiction.

Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “Detectives learned through the course of the investigation, that Triston’s uncle, Jerrad Dalmolin, age 39, of Tucson had given Triston, Buprenorphine (Suboxone) to suppress Triston’s alleged addiction to Oxycotin.”

Sheriff Babeu continued, “During a subsequent interview, Jerrad stated he noticed a behavior change in Triston, which he believed was a result of being addicted to opiates. Jerrad told detectives that he then gave Triston, Klonopin and Buprenorphine to fight the addiction.”

Based upon the results of the investigation, a Grand Jury Warrant was issued out of the Pinal County Superior Court on September 26 for the arrest of Jerrad Dalmolin for the charges of Child Abuse and Transferring Drugs to a Minor. The bond amount on the warrant was $100,000.

Jerrad Dalmolin was located on Friday, October 28th, 2016 by PCSO detectives in Sierra Vista and booked into Cochise County Jail. He will soon be extradited and booked into the Pinal County Sheriff’s Jail.
