On Tuesday morning, Tucson Police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Nico’s Taco Shop on Campbell Avenue. Officers learned three adult male employees had been working inside the business when between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. one of the employees exited the rear door to the business.
Once outside, an unknown masked armed male approached him and led him back inside. With the assistance of another masked armed male, the suspects restrained the employees and began damaging the interior of the store before leaving with an undisclosed amount of money.
The victims were eventually able to free themselves and call police. One of the employees was assaulted during the incident and sustained minor injury. The other two employees were not injured.
Detectives learned the suspects fled in a stolen 2008 Chevrolet Silverado truck with 22” rims bearing Arizona license plate AVZ7970. The vehicle has not been located.
