Glendale Police Working To Locate Walmart Shooter

On December 7, 2016 at 11:13 a.m., Glendale Police officers responded to 5000 N. 95th Ave for a scene of a double shooting. When they arrived on scene they found two male victims with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Both males were transported to a local hospital where they were treated and later released.

During the investigation it was found that the two male victims had contact with the shooter, and a juvenile male with the shooter, in the parking lot of the Walmart. The shooter followed the victims into the store and confronted them. The shooter fired rounds from a handgun at the victims, and one of the victims returned fire with his own handgun. A female was seen by a store employee picking up shell casings from the crime scene and disposing of them. Through the identification of the female, Elexis Larry, detectives were also able to identify the juvenile male and the shooter. The shooter has been identified as 21 year old Almalik Ward. Ward is described as a black male, 5’9” and approximately 150 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.

It is possible Ward is stilled armed with a handgun. He is considered armed and dangerous and the public is advised not to approach him.

The Glendale Police Department is asking for any information on the location of Almalik Ward. Anyone with information is encouraged, no matter how irrelevant it may seem, to please call the Glendale Police Department at (623) 930-3000.
