Yuma Woman Shoots Husband, Arrested For Attempted Murder

On January 12, 2017, at approximately 8:42 a.m., the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 11400 block of 39th Lane in the Foothills area in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, Deputies spoke to the suspect who stated that she had shot her 70 year old husband in the face.  The victim was located in the master bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the face and was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center by Rural/Metro Ambulance and later flown to a Phoenix area hospital where he remains.

Further investigation revealed that an argument had ensued between the suspect and victim the night prior and continued in the morning. The YCSO Criminal Investigation Bureau was requested and assumed the investigation.

The suspect, Paula Eure, 62, of Yuma, was arrested and booked in to the Yuma County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon per Domestic Violence and Aggravated Assault — Serious Physical Injury per Domestic Violence.

This case remains under investigation.
