TPD Detectives Working Arson On Tucson South Side

The Tucson Police Department is actively working an arson investigation that began early Sunday morning on Tucson’s south side.

On January 22, 2017, shortly before 5:30 a.m., Tucson Police and members of the Tucson Fire Department responded to a report of multiple vehicles and a carport on fire at a complex in the 1600 block of W. Midvale Village Dr. (near S. Midvale Park Rd. and W. Drexel Rd.). The Tucson Fire Department quickly worked to extinguish the fire as the officers conducted evacuations of nearby residents.

The fire is being worked be detectives as an arson with several thousands of dollars in damages. Detectives have learned that shortly before the fire began, two males in their twenties wearing plaid jackets were seen riding bicycles in the area.
