Rep. Ken Clark’s HB2054 was passed unanimously this week by the House Government Committee.

HB2054 requires an out-of-state nonprofit or LLC to obtain a certificate of registration to do business in Arizona before spending money for the purpose of influencing an election in Arizona.

Clark argued that “voters have a right to know when political operatives from out of state come to Arizona to involve themselves in our elections. This is a simple and logical disclosure in our law.”
