The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death Michael Black, 80, from Chino Valley, AZ.
On November 26, 2018, just after 1:30 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an occupied vehicle found off the roadway along Williamson Valley Road at McIntosh Road, Prescott. When deputies arrived, personnel from Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority were on scene providing CPR to the driver of a green 1993 GMC pickup, Mr. Black.
Deputies learned that Mr. Black was driving south on Williamson Valley Road and possibly suffered an unknown medical problem which caused him to veer off the west side of the road. His vehicle struck a road construction sign, a small oak tree, and eventually collided with a larger tree before coming to rest.
Paramedics were unable to revive Mr. Black and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. An autopsy is pending to determine cause of death.
