Phoenix Police and Fire deployed to NY

Members of the Phoenix Fire Department and Phoenix Police Department, as part of the Phoenix All Hazards Incident Management Team, have been deployed to New York to assist in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. New York State’s Emergency Operations Center recruited the team for their expertise in emergency situation management and organization.

The team will serve for two weeks as they manage 400 to 800 emergency workers.

Members of both Phoenix Fire and Police Departments have been deployed to high-profile incidents, including the Murrah Building bombing in Oklahoma City, the World Trade Center in New York City, and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
