Man sought in assault of three young Tucson girls

Pima County deputies responded to the 11,100 block of East Mountain Gate Place in reference to the possible sexual assault of three minor children, this morning at approximately 2:00 a.m.

The children (girls) ages 6, 8, and 10 told deputies they did not know the male suspect who entered the bedroom. After speaking with the victims, the Crimes Against Children Unit was notified and responded for further investigation.

Detectives have determined that the three girls and their mother were visiting grandparents in Tucson. Last night, the three girls were in a bedroom when a male suspect entered the home and committed acts of sexual assault.

Tucson Police and Pima County Sheriff’s deputies are looking looked for similarities between this case and the investigation into 6-year-old Isabel Mercedes Celis. However, Tucson police spokeswoman Sgt. Maria Hawke said, “We literally have no idea whether the cases are related, they are so early in their investigation.”

The victims have described the suspect as a Caucasian male in his 20’s with dark hair. He was last seen wearing dark shorts, a green sleeveless shirt and dark colored glasses.

A composite drawing of the man has been released. Anyone with information regarding a possible suspect identification is asked to contact 911 or 88-CRIME (882-7463).
