On Saturday night, Pima County detectives recovered the puppy stolen from the Humane Society of Southern Arizona this past Tuesday. After receiving a tip, they were able to develop a possible location for the suspect and the dog.
Once there, an officer with Pima Animal Care responded and, using a mobile chip reader, confirmed the puppy was the dog detectives were looking for.
The 20-year-old woman in possession of the dog was arrested on a theft charge.
