19 year old dies in Tucson collision

Tucson Police Department responded to the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred in the 9900 Block of East Irvington Road at approximately 8:06 a.m. on April 21, 2012. Personnel from the Tucson Fire Department provided information to officers that the collision involved two vehicles, one of which may have rolled over as a result of the accident.

First responders learned that the driver of one of the involved vehicles had minor injuries only. The driver of the other vehicle succumbed to injuries received during the collision and was pronounced deceased. The deceased driver was identified as 19-year old Shea Lyne Brody.

Detectives discovered that a white 2002 Ford F250 truck was traveling westbound on East Irvington Road. The vehicle, a black 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Ms. Brody was traveling eastbound on East Irvington Road. For some unknown reason, the Pontiac crossed over the painted lane divider, directly into the westbound traffic lane that the Ford truck was utilizing.

The vehicles collided head-on, causing the Ford truck to roll one time before coming to a stop. The driver of the Ford truck cooperated fully with the investigation and was not issued a citation for any reason.
