Refusal to buy alcohol leads to shooting

Francisco Jaurez, age 20, was shot and killed by a motorist early Sunday morning, causing his car to crash into a building near Central Avenue and Hatcher Road, in Phoenix. Jaurez and his 19-year-old friend, who was grazed by a bullet, had just left a Circle K store at 1100 W. Hatcher.

Police are looking for two men who asked Jaurez to buy alcohol for them. Those men are o suspects in the shooting, According to Phoenix police; the men had attempted to buy alcohol from the store, but were refused “due to their intoxicated condition.”

The 19 year old victim told police that they he refused to buy them alcohol because he was too young to buy alcohol.
According to police, Juarez drove away from the store and the suspects pulled up beside his vehicle in a Lincoln Town Car. The passenger then fired off several shots hitting Juarez numerous times.

The suspected shooter is described as a male, 20 to 30 years old, with a medium build and shoulder-length hair that was braided into “corn rows.” Police said he wore a black t-shirt with a white design. The driver is described as a 20- to 30-year-old male with a thin build.
