Lamont Ellickson was sentenced to 22 years in prison by Judge Gilbert Figueroa in the Pinal County Superior Court, for the murder of Ann Marie Tyler, 30, on Nov. 23, 2008. Ellickson brutally killed Tyler during a domestic violence incident in Casa Grande.
Ellickson, 35, left the state for California the day after the murder. On December 3, 2008 he was arrested in Texas and extradited to Pinal County. He pled guilty to second degree murder on February 17, 2012.
Ellickson admitted he killed Tyler and apologized to the court. Following arguments by both the defense attorney and the prosecutor and statements by the victim’s family, the Court found more aggravating than mitigating factors and sentenced him to the maximum term of 22 years in prison.
“Ellickson committed a heinous crime. Justice was served,” said Pinal County Attorney James P. Walsh. “I want to offer my condolences to Ms. Tyler’s family.”
