TUSD to hold Special Meeting today on budget

In their never ending effort to disenfranchise the public from public education, the TUSD Governing Board, under the leadership of president Miguel Cuevas, is holding a “Special Meeting” this morning at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Boardroom at 1010 East 10th.

Despite having received numerous requests by the public to hold their meetings on Saturday mornings to ensure the public’s access and safety since the take over by radicals last year, the Board refused. However, the Board made the exception for the budget hearing guaranteeing that the meeting’s attendance would be low and as a result, objections to the budget would be few.

The meeting has been scheduled for at least two weeks however it was not posted on their website until yesterday morning. A member of the public had requested a copy of the budget from the Board’s secretary and was denied access. Only an overview of the budget is posted on the website.

The district fought legislation this past year to increase transparency for Arizona school districts.
