Victim identified in Tucson shooting

On August 30, 2012, deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to a reported shooting in the 5600 block of South Robin Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies found 34-year-old Gray Eagle Joseph Ortiz, deceased inside of his residence. He suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

Family members and other individuals were present inside the house at the time of the shooting. The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to investigate and learned that individuals were seen leaving from the scene after the shooting. A suspect description is pending at this time.

The investigation by the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is ongoing.
