Tucson man robs seven businesses in an hour

On Thursday, September 19, Richard Ulloa-Gutierrez, age 30, committed six robberies and one attmepted robbery in Tucson ina about 1 hour. At approximately 9:30 p.m., the Tucson Police Department began receiving reports of his armed robberies across the Tucson area.

In each incident, Ulloa-Gutierrez displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register. No one was injured in any of the robberies.

In several incidents, witnesses were able to obtain a vehicle description to give to responding officers. Ulloa-Gutierrez robbed the following convenient stores within one hour:

• 9:32 p.m.: 7/11 located at 3856 East 5th Street
• 9:36 p.m.: Circle K located at 401 South Alvernon Way
• 9:43 p.m.: 7/11 located at 4659 East 22nd Street
• 9:45 p.m.: 7/11 located at 4295 East 29th Street (Robbery Attempt)
• 10:07 p.m.: Circle K located at 5680 S. Campbell Avenue
• 10:12 p.m.: Diamond Shamrock located at 1895 East Valencia Road
• 10:25 p.m.: Circle K located at 3102 East Benson Highway

Ulloa-Gutierrez was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Pima County Jail for 6 Counts of Armed Robbery and 1 count of Attempted Armed Robbery.
