On September 25, 2012, a homeowner from the 6200 block of North Canyon Drive reported to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department that his foothills residence had been burglarized. Responding deputies learned that a picture of the two suspects was taken by a game camera and obtained it as evidence.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Burglary Unit then took over the investigation and in the process, found out that an item stolen from the foothills residence had been pawned at a local pawn shop. Additional evidence led to the development of probable cause for detectives to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the 1800 block of West Orange Grove Road. This search warrant was served Friday, October 12, 2012 by burglary detectives and deputies.
Evidence discovered in that search helped investigators identify two suspects who resided at an address in the 400 block of West Lavery Lane. An additional search warrant for this new address was obtained and served a short time later. At this second location, investigators found the two suspects, later identified as 25-year-old Courtney Alanne Bailey and 28-year-old Adam Michael Baca.
Evidence found during this search linked Bailey and Baca to the burglary that occurred on September 25, 2012 at the address on North Canyon Drive. Their appearance matched that of the two individuals photographed by the game camera at that location. After being interviewed, both suspects were arrested on charges of Second Degree Burglary and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center. Detectives suspect the two may be linked to other burglaries committed in the area. The investigation continues.
