Letters to the Editor: “Obama offers hope for the future”

“Obama offers hope for the future”

“Obama offers hope for the future,” as one writer states in Letters to the Editor. Well, apparently many people feel this way. If that writer is from a socialist country I may be able to entertain his fantasy. So many people were waiting for the hope and change we can believe that is American, you know, friendly to free enterprise, state’s rights, liberty and the salvation of our great heritage. Obama’s promise to “fundamentally change America”, as he so stated 4 years ago, has happened. Our defenses have been diminished, we are more dependent on foreign oil and we are headed for a fiscal cliff and socialized medicine. Where is the hope?

No hope for Southern Arizona

We look to the north for hope now-a-days. We hope that their prosperity will trickle down. It is ALL we can hope for in Pima County.  On the intersection of Ajo and 6th there sit four corners. Two are occupied by boarded up buildings. The third is occupied by a check cashing and pay day loan service. The fourth is occupied by the Veteran’s Hospital.

We have insulted all veterans. They fought so hard for our freedom. The freedom to be creative and constructive. We have let them down. On this Veteran’s Day weekend, we should hang our heads.
