Prescott woman arrested for smothering ill husband

Cynthia Mueller, a Prescott woman, has been arrested in the death of her husband. Mueller’s husband, 52-year-old David Mueller, was found dead November 16 at the couple’s home.

Charles Todd, age 61, was arrested on a first-degree murder charge in December at his home in Henderson, Nevada. Todd has pleaded not guilty.

Prescott Police say David Mueller suffered from a degenerative neuromuscular disease and had been under the care of his wife at the time he was killed.

According to Todd, he and Cynthia Mueller were having an affair and that she asked him to help kill her husband. Prescott police say the two smothered him to death.

Cynthia Mueller denies all the accusations.

Mueller was booked into Yavapai County Jail on a homicide charge and on multiple felony fraudulent schemes charges.

Prescott police also arrested 42-year-old Travis Northcutt, who was living with Cynthia Mueller. He was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in Yavapai County.
