Mom robbed while waiting for designated driver daughter

Deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Foothills District responded to the Circle K at 5365 North La Cholla Boulevard reference a theft report on April 14, at about 1:42 a.m.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the female victim, who told deputies them that she was at this location in order to wait for ride. She had asked for her daughter to come and pick her up as she felt she should not drive her car after she had been drinking alcohol. While she was waiting, a car pulled up to the Circle K and a male approached her. After a brief conversation, the man grabbed the woman’s purse and ran off towards the vehicle with it. The car then left southbound on La Cholla Boulevard.

After reviewing surveillance footage, detectives are asking to public for assistance in identifying the suspects. The get-away-vehicle was possibly an older model white Honda Civic wagon. The male who stole the victim’s purse had a light complexion, wearing a dark grey or black shirt, black pants and a black baseball cap.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect, the suspect vehicle or any other information on this case is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
