On June 23, 2011, deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 2300 block of W. Drexel Rd. reference a single vehicle collision. The vehicle, a 2002 Jaguar, was located off the roadway after it had struck a tree. Deputies found a man lying a few feet from the vehicle in obvious pain and immediately provided first aid. An additional male passenger was found trapped in the vehicle and was later pronounced deceased on scene.
Deputies determined that there were actually three occupants in the vehicle and that the driver had fled from the scene. An arrest warrant for Manslaughter has been issued for the driver who was been identified as 27 year old Reyes Jovan Miranda. The Sheriff’s Department has been unable to locate Miranda and detectives believe that he has possibly left the country and is currently living in Mexico.
Detectives are attempting to apprehend Miranda and are asking the public for any information on the possible whereabouts of him. The public is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME, if they have any information about Miranda.
