Tucson teen dies in knife fight

On May 24, 2013, at 9:49 p.m., Tucson Police Department officers responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment complex located at 4440 East 29th Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 14-year old male suffering from multiple stab wounds.

He was transported to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. Officers then located a 15-year male inside of an apartment also suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives spoke to witnesses and examined evidence at the scene. They determined that the two boys were involved in a physical altercation with each other in the parking lot of the apartment complex. During the altercation, both boys produced knives and both stabbed each other.

On May 25th, around 8:00 a.m., the 14-year old male succumbed to his injuries. He was identified as Mike Garcia. No arrest has been made and the investigation is ongoing.
