Pima County early morning robber sought

On May 29th 2013, at approximately 3:04 a.m., Pima County deputies responded to the Quick Mart located at 900 West Roger Road reference an armed robbery. They received information that the clerk was approached at the counter by an armed man who demanded money.

The clerk described the suspect as a 5’8” male, with a thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. He described the sweatshirt as being pulled down around his face and black material concealing his face therefore he was unable to give the suspect’s ethnicity.

Deputies immediately coordinated a search of the area. During the investigation it was found that the suspect came into the store with what appeared to be a sawed off shotgun and demanded money and cigarettes. The clerk complied and the suspect then asked the clerk to give him the money in the safe. He told the suspect that he could not get into the safe, because it was time delayed. The suspect proceeded behind the counter to look at the safe. The suspect also stole eight to ten packages of Newport Cigarettes.

In store video footage confirmed that the suspect was armed with a sawed off shotgun, and provided photos of the unique writing on the suspect’s sweatshirt. Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is urged to contact 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
