Janet Napolitano has served President Obama and his Administration as the Secretary of Homeland Security for more than four years. Napolitano said the “opportunity to work with the dedicated men and women of the Department of Homeland Security, who serve on the frontlines of our nation’s efforts to protect our communities and families from harm, has been the highlight of my professional career.”
Napolitano claimed that she worked “to minimize threats of all kinds to the American public”. Napolitano said she will serve as the next President of the University of California “to hopefully play a role in providing a quality education through one of the nation’s largest educational systems.”
Napolitano expressed her thanks to President Obama for the chance to serve as the head of the ever growing department. The outgoing Secretary also stated, ”I know the Department of Homeland Security will continue to perform its important duties with the honor and focus that the American public expects.”
Napolitano has been under constant siege from the law enforcement agencies along the southern border for increased support to secure the borders to reduce the loss of life and physical damage related to the porous borders.
