Uncle Sam’s bust results in ten arrested for ID theft

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office workplace ID theft operation conducted at the Uncle Sam’s restaurant locations in the Phoenix Valley, resulted in ten arrests for felony charges related to identity theft and forgery. Nine of the suspects have had ICE holds placed on them.

One of the suspects arrested in the Sheriff’s Office’s 73rd workplace operation targeting false identifications used to gain employment, was charged with auto theft after an outstanding warrant was discovered.

“Identity theft is a serious felony that creates untold damage to its victims’” said Arpaio. “By enforcing state law, my deputies are helping to curb the abuses that resolve around this increasing source of crime that affects thousands, if not millions, of Americans.”

All the suspects arrested were booked into the 4th Avenue Jail, where they remain awaiting judicial process.
