Pima County Air Unit rescues Seven Falls victim

SevenFalls02sAt approximately 1:00 p.m. on August 4, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Air Unit was requested to assist with a rescue in the Seven Falls area. It was reported a 25-year-old male fell and possibly broke his ankle and received a laceration on his head.

Bystanders at the scene assisted the injured male with his injuries until help arrived.

The Sheriff’s Department helicopter, with rescue personnel, responded to the location of the victim. When the helicopter arrived, a rescue deputy was lowered via the hoist, in order to access the injured male. The victim was placed on a stretcher and put in a Baumann Bag before being hoisted to the helicopter.

The injured male was flown to a landing zone in the Sabino Canyon area where he was transferred to an ambulance. Once secured in the ambulance the victim was taken to an area hospital for further medical care.
