On July 3rd, 2013, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) began investigating an alleged child molestation case involving a 7-year-old victim. The victim disclosed she had been molested in San Tan Valley by a family friend one year prior.
The person who committed the alleged molestation was identified as Isidro Pacheco, age 58, of Mesa.
Detectives attempted to locate Pacheco, but he had since moved. Pacheco was finally located on August 22nd, and he was brought in for questioning.
Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “When detectives contacted Pacheco, he made admissions which confirmed he molested this young 7-year-old female victim. Pacheco used his relationship with the victim’s family and betrayed that trust and molested this young girl. The overwhelming majority of children who are sexually abused are abused by someone they know and trust, a person most parents would never suspect. It is important adults with children encourage their children to know they can talk with them about anything. If you suspect a child has been sexually abused, report it immediately to law enforcement.”
Isidro Pacheco was booked into the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center for two counts of Child Molestation (Dangerous Crimes Against Children.)
He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
