Scottsdale narrows treasurer field to 4

The recruitment for Scottsdale city treasurer is down to four finalists. The city council will interview the finalists at a work study session on Sept. 17 and could make a final decision during that same public meeting.

The Scottsdale city treasurer is a charter officer appointed directly by the mayor and city council.

The finalists are:

Douglas W. Allen Currently the financial operations officer for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community education division; previous experience as the deputy county administrator for Yuma County and as the director of administrative services for the town of Buckeye

Lee Guillory Currently Scottsdale’s acting city treasurer and finance director; previous experience as a finance manager with Arizona Public Service Company and as a revenue manager with the Arizona Corporation Commission

Jeff Nichols Currently chief financial officer/vice president of the Scottsdale Cultural Council; previous experience as accounting director for the city of Scottsdale and deputy director/controller for the Pima County regional wastewater reclamation department

Diane Ruscitti Previous experience as deputy assistant director (finance/treasury) for the city of Houston department of aviation, director of fuel hedging for Alaska Airlines and director of structured finance for Bombardier Aerospace

The city treasurer’s office includes the finance, accounting, budget, risk management and customer service areas. Scottsdale’s previous city treasurer, David Smith, retired in July.
