Tucson man kills roommate, self

On the evening of September 3, Tucson Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 4500 block of East 28th Street. When officers arrived, they located two adult men with gunshot trauma lying in the street in front of the residence.

Both men were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives determined that Michael Kistner and Jadrian Rusche, a University of Arizona Cancer Center researcher, lived together at Rusche’s residence as roommates. They became involved in an altercation inside the home. At one point, Kistner attacked Rusche with a kitchen knife and stabbed him multiple times. Kistner then armed himself with a handgun and fired multiple shots at Rusche. Rusche ran from the residence into the street, and Kistner chased him. Then Kistner fired additional shots at Rusche prior to turning the gun on himself and committing suicide.

It is believed that Rusche was struck multiple times by gunfire both inside and outside the residence.

The victim in this incident was identified as 32-year-old Jadrian Rusche. The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Michael Kistner. Next of kin have been notified.
