McCain, Flake absent, Cruz fights to defund Obamacare

flake-tweetsSenator Ted Cruz, in opposition to funding Obamacare, said he would “speak in support of defunding Obamacare until I am no longer able to stand.” As time passed, two Arizona Senators were noticeably absent while 8 other Senators stood in support of Cruz and America’s middle-class.

Arizona’s Senators McCain and Flake both ran for office in support of defunding Obamacare and both gave it lip service, but did not participate in the mostly symbolic, but still inherently important protest.

Yet, when it came time to be held accountable and share a small sacrifice in order to garner a compromise with the Democrats, Flake was nowhere to be seen or heard.

Just a few of the examples of why this law is so damaging to the economy are increased premiums, people unable to keep their plans, congressional staff, union, and corporate exemptions, and new taxes.

While Cruz and other Senators stood up and spoke throughout the night for the American people, the two Arizona Senators – who ran on repeal – were nowhere to be found.
