Mount Lemmon motorcycle rider loses control

windy point 1On the afternoon of Friday October 11, Pima County deputies responded to a single motorcycle collision on General Hitchcock Highway near mile post 14.5 just below Windy Point. While en route, they were advised that the rider was injured.

When deputies arrived, they found a 17-year-old male with possible life threatening injuries. According to witnesses, the rider was traveling at a high rate of speed going northbound on General Hitchcock Highway. The rider went into a blind curve, lost control of his motorcycle, and collided with a post.

The Sheriff’s Department Traffic Unit responded and took over the investigation.

Lifeline transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
