On the afternoon of October 12, Pima County deputies responded to the Walmart, located at 7635 N. La Cholla Blvd, in reference to an aggravated assault. When deputies arrived, they learned loss prevention personnel observed a suspect take CDs and videos off the shelf and put them into a backpack.
When the suspect left the store, he was confronted by the loss prevention employee. The suspect put the backpack on the ground and walked away. The loss prevention employee confronted him again and told the suspect he needed to come with him. The suspect pulled a knife out of his pocket and held it down at his side. He told the loss prevention employee, “Bye,” got on his bike and rode southbound towards Ina Rd.
The suspect is described as:
• Caucasian male
• Mid to late 40’s
• 5’10” to 6’0” tall
• Facial hair (goatee)
• Wearing a black hat and a flannel shirt
The Sheriff’s Department Robbery/Assault Unit is currently trying to identify the suspect involved in this aggravated assault. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call 88-CRIME or 9-1-1.
