On the night of November 18, 2013, the Oro Valley Police Department responded to the 7900 block of North Oracle Road in reference to an accident involving a 31-year-old female. The female victim was assisting a friend with attempting to repair a truck.
During this process, she inadvertently shifted the vehicle into reverse, and the vehicle knocked her down and backed over her. According to witnesses, the now-driverless vehicle continued in reverse in a circular path, striking the victim two more times.
The victim, who is identified as Nichole McAlister, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The Oro Valley Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing with this investigation.
