Cochise County missing woman found dead

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office is saddened to report that Ms. Mary Black, who has been missing from her St. David home for the past thirteen days, has been located deceased.

Today, Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue members, along with Pinal County Search and Rescue and Pima County Search and Rescue teams, deployed in the area where the vehicle was located last Saturday, south of Arizona City.

The Search Teams were organized and utilizing canines. They worked the area from the vehicle out and discovered Ms. Black’s body in a brushy area, approximately one mile southwest. Ms. Black will be transported to the Pima County Medical Examiners’ Office for the completion of an autopsy.

Family notification was made by Sheriff Dannels who advised today, ”Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of extraordinary sorrow. We appreciate the public input and other law enforcement agencies working closely with us during this investigation either by providing tips, thoughts, and/or good will. We are disappointed that the outcome was not more positive and we are here to provide our family support in any way we can.”
