On Friday January 17, 2014, a joint Covert Underage Buyer (CUB’s) detail was conducted with three Arizona Liquor Control Agents, two SVPD Officers and three CCSO deputies in Bisbee, Sierra Vista, Tombstone and Douglas.
A total of 13 establishments were contacted for an underage buy and then further inspected by Liquor Control Agents, following the sale or non-sale. Of the 13 establishments, there were three completed sales at the following locations:
Crystal Palace, Tombstone, AZ
Pizza Hut, Douglas, AZ
Oasis Sports Bar, Douglas, AZ
Those that did not sell alcohol to minors were:
Big Nose Kates Saloon, Tombstone
Doc Holiday, Tombstone
Dragoon Saloon, Tombstone
Four Deuces, Tombstone
Discount Liquors, Douglas
La Frontera Bar, Douglas
Gay 90’s, Naco
Sullys Old Town Café, Bisbee
Hitching Post, Bisbee
Western JCT, Bisbee
JR’s Food and Spirits, Sierra Vista
Sheriff Dannels said today, “We will continue to work with other local and state law enforcement agencies to identify any establishment that is negatively contributing to our kids health and well being. We cannot have a disregard for laws that are designed to keep all of us safe, and with specialized details like the CUBS, we not only provide enforcement, but we provide education to ensure that the number of violations decrease and we hope, eventually disappear.”
