The Tucson Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a robbery suspect in the Tucson area. On January 30, 2014 at approximately 7:12 a.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Taco Bell located at 6616 East Grant Road.
Officers determined that the suspect had fled prior to their arrival and that no one was injured during the incident. A search was initiated in the immediate area but the suspect was not located.
Detectives from the Robbery Unit responded to continue the investigation. They determined that the suspect entered the establishment shortly after they were open for business at 7:00 a.m. The suspect approached the register, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and demanded cash. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled southbound from the scene.
The suspect is described as a dark skinned Hispanic or African American female, in her late 30s to early 40s, weighing approximately 130 pounds, and standing 5’0’’ to 5’1’’ tall. The female suspect was wearing a dark zippered hoodie, a black baseball cap, blue jeans, black gloves with skeleton fingers on them, and a grey nylon stocking covering her face.
Witnesses added that the female suspect had a deep, scratchy, Hispanic style accent. Surveillance photographs are included below. Anyone with information on the identity or location of this suspect is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
