Scammers claim to be Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy

Recently scammers have been calling residents in the Valley claiming they have an outstanding arrest warrant due to a ticket which was never paid or for a failure to appear for jury duty. The caller refers to himself as a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputy and will arrest you if you fail to get a “Green Dot Money Pack” and then to contact the “deputy” with the access code.

If you receive a call from a person purporting to be a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputy who is requiring payment over the phone for a past due ticket/warrant or any other reason, hang up the phone and call the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office at 602-876-1011 and provide all the information regarding the call
