The city of Phoenix Street Transportation Department is reminding residents and commuters that Greenway Parkway will be closed between 19th and 7th avenues from March 3 to the end of August. The road will be closed to replace the existing bridge over the Cave Creek Wash, between 16th Drive and 14th Avenue. Access to local residents and businesses will continue to be provided.
By closing Greenway Parkway and stopping use of the current bridge during construction, the city anticipates being able to save approximately $1 million on the project. The full closure will also reduce the overall project timeline and provide consistent and safe detours for residents, pedestrians, and commuter traffic.
