Tucson driver dies on east side, alcohol was a factor

On the night of March 8, 2014, Tucson Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision in the area of Broadway Boulevard and Sherwood Village Drive. Upon arrival, officers located a two vehicle collision at that intersection.

One of the drivers, 32-year-old Bobby Partridge, was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival. The 47-year-old female driver of the second vehicle involved was not injured.

Detectives determined that the 2005 PT Cruiser, driven by Partridge, was traveling westbound on Broadway Boulevard at a high rate of speed. A 2008 Chevy Trailblazer was traveling eastbound on Broadway Boulevard and made a u-turn at the intersection of Sherwood Village to go back westbound on Broadway Boulevard. The PT Cruiser rear ended the Chevy Trailblazer as the u-turn was completed.

Detectives believe speed and alcohol were a factor in the collision.
