On March 14, 2014, at approximately 10:40 A.M., Tucson Police Department officers responded to the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred at the Chase Bank, located inside of the Fry’s Grocery Store at 9401 East 22nd Street. Upon arrival officers confirmed that the suspect had fled the store and that no one was hurt during the incident.
Detectives determined that the suspect approached one of the bank tellers and set a Fry’s Grocery basket on the counter. The basket contained a small white Chihuahua puppy. The suspect then demanded money from both tellers at the counter. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled westbound from the store on foot with his dog. No weapon was seen or mentioned.
The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, approximately 35 years of age, 5’10” tall and 180 pounds. A surveillance photograph of the suspect is attached below. Anyone with information is urged to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
