On October 2, 2013, Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) received an anonymous report in reference to an injured dog in the 3400 block of E. Milton Road. On October 5, 2013, a PACC officer responded to the property to investigate and was directed to the dog’s location.
The investigation revealed that the dog, a male mastiff mix, had been hit by a car on September 30, 2013. He was suffering from severe infection and extreme pain as a result of not receiving veterinary care. The dog was also kept in an area without water and shelter. The dog was immediately taken to the PACC clinic, where his condition was determined too severe to treat.
Subsequently, the dog was humanely euthanized. The owner, 37-year-old Francisca Aguirre, was convicted of Felony Animal Cruelty.
